This chair is a lower version of the barstool No.73 . Its simple look lets the four manually bent pieces of beech wood stand out as they create the connection between the leg and seat. We offer a version with upholstered or cane seat or seat made of plywood relief.
Michael Thonet (1796-1871), born in Germany, was a designer specialising in ‘bentwood'. Thonet and his sons set up a bentwood furniture factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem in 1861. In 1876, Chair No. 18 - one of the first models which was produced here and is still a part of our portfolio today.
